Stephen Ryan is Canadian and lives in beautiful Nova Scotia, "Canada's Ocean Playground". He was pleased to be invited to join the Exos team in 2018 when Exos launched their first SARGE rocket. He supports the team in various media roles including managing Exos's Facebook page and Youtube channel.

Stephen studied physics, engineering, and computer science. Currently semi-retired, he has worked in several fields including the construction industry, defense research, and oceanography, as well as media specialist and advisor in support of other aerospace projects. Among many interests, he has had a life-long interest in astronomy, space exploration, and aviation. He is fascinated by weather and climate. He is passionate about environmental sustainability and renewable energy. A long-time gamer, he especially enjoys racing sims. He designs, builds, and flies radio-controlled aircraft, including science-fiction-inspired models. He loves riding anything with two wheels.

One fun activity has been the creation of an underwater park at his family's lake home. There is a floating diving platform for daring high dives. For snorkeling, there is a sunken boat to explore. A shore-based air compressor provided an air supply to a dive helmet or a 16-foot deep underwater dome out past the "dropoff". Fun times during a short summer!
