Mr McClendon retired as a Brigadier General from the US Air Force after 33 yrs of active and reserve duty. He is a 1975 graduate of the Air Force Academy (Astronautical Engineering), flew tactical fighters, graduated from the Air Force Test Pilot School and performed developmental test and evaluation on fighter aircraft. He moved into special access program management and served in various R&D and acquisition positions. He served in the front office of the F-22 Program Office, AF Materiel Command Deputy for Operations, AF Research Laboratory and Headquarters Air Force Deputy Chief of Staff for Reserve office. He commanded the active duty, air staff level Air Force Global Cyberspace Integration Center. Mr McClendon is also a retired Captain for a major international airline with over 11,000 hours of fighter and transport flight time.
